THE NEWS BUNDLE: CBS Planning 'NCIS: LA' Spinoff Pilot, Characters To Be Introduced in Two-Part Episode Later This Season

NCIS has had an interesting television history in terms of spinning off from different series. The 10 year old CBS hit is itself a spinoff of previous series JAG, while it’s companion drama NCIS: Los Angeles featured characters that were first introduced within the course of the series. And though CBS’ success has led to an incredibly crowded timeslot environment, it seems they aren’t stopping from expanding their hit franchises as now it seems NCIS could be on three nights a week with an all-new series to join the two predecessors.
