After a moderately successful box office gross once more, Screen Gems finally moved into motion the plans for Resident Evil 6 with a release date for what could very much be the final installment in the franchise. The final piece of an overarching vision, whether or not Alice will be closing up shop ultimately remains to be seen. But with a theatrical bow already in place, now the obvious has been set in stone as the key creative duo will be back for what could be their last Umbrella Corporation adventure.
Somehow, Alice keeps doing it. A cult-favorite, Resident Evilmanages to still succeed on the big screen and most recently the fifth film continued the trend by debuting at the top of the box office. Quickly assembling nearly every year, Screen Gems has been proud of the series alongside its other supernatural favorite Underworld.
Now, it seems the zombie apocalypse is just months away from returning in front of the camera once more as Alice is locked and loaded to go for what could be her last round.
As The Expendables 2 kicks off this Friday, an entire new slate of action movies look to show up in theaters as we move out of summer. Milla Jovovich will be back kicking ass as Alice in the fifth installment of the Resident Evil franchise, while the aforementioned action team-up with restart Arnold Schwarzenegger’s career as he starts off 2013 with his own leading role surrounding by quite a few familiar faces. Now today, the latest poster for the zombie drama franchise has been revealed while the first poster and synopsis Arnold’s upcoming The Last Stand has been unveiled as well.
Among the big budget sequels and high-profile projects, Screen Gems has the task of really pushing their upcoming fifth installment in the Resident Evil franchise this week during Comic-Con. Though Milla Jovovich has been a driving force behind the film’s marketing so far and the series has a dedicated number of fans already, it’s what exactly they’ll be doing among the competition at the large event that will certainly be interesting. Now, the studio has revealed an exclusive poster that can be seen on the floor of the convention center which features main character Alice taking the action to a new high.
It’s been a couple of weeks since Screen Gems released the full length trailer for Resident Evil: Retribution, which received plenty of positive buzz thanks to the unique look at the start of the series’ post-apocalyptic life. Since then, marketing has somewhat gone quiet for now as the film waits to pounce in preparation for its September release. Now, the studio has released yet another all-new banner for the film, showing heroine Alice bringing her fight to the ocean and with a tagline that pokes fun at a classic piece of both literature and film.
It’s been roughly six month since we’ve seen the teaser trailer for Resident Evil: Retribution, and though we’ve seen some sneak peeks here and there ultimately how the film looks has been kept locked up for the time being. Now with a movie revolving around the supernatural on its way out in the form ofAbraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, it’s time for Screen Gems to show what the fifth film in the gaming adaptation franchise has got. In an all-new trailer just released, not only does Milla Jovovich continue to flex her action muscle, but the beginning of the trailer is a drastically different approach that adds plenty of emotion and intrigue into the upcoming sequel.
With the poster debut yesterday, it seems like finally Screen Gems is starting to push its upcoming fall release of the action sequel Resident Evil: Retribution. There’s only been one trailer, so it seems can we expect a new look at the film soon, but until then we can expect new sneak peeks via all-new photos. Today, the studio has released two production stills from the film, showing Alice (Milla Jovovich) creating a pool of blood while in her new suit, and character from the video game franchise Ada Wong (Li Bingbing) assisting the heroine in her quest to stop the zombie apocalypse.
It’s been nearly six months since the teaser trailer for Resident Evil: Retribution hit, and we unfortunately haven’t heard much more from Screen Gems in terms of marketing. A few posters have hit, but what we’re really waiting for is the full length trailer. While it’s unclear just when we can expect that all-new look to hit, Screen Gems proves that the day may soon be coming by releasing yet another poster for the upcoming zombie thriller sequel. This time, we get yet another look at not only our ass-kicking heroine of Alice, but that destruction that lies around her.
With summer here, you’re likely to see various movies plastered nearly everywhere. Cups, food brands, and perhaps the biggest of them all: banners. Large banners in movie theaters, malls, and anywhere else you can think of are strong advertisements. And now it seems not only one summer fantasy blockbuster is increasing their large marketing, but so is one zombie sequel coming to theaters in the fall.
Though it still has nine months to go, Resident Evil: Retributionhas made quite a splash. From casting, to the injury report, and the constant on-set tweeting from star Milla Jovovich, we’ve had a lot to digest from the upcoming sequel so far. Now, the film is ready to give audiences its first look this weekend alongside Underworld: Awakening, and we have the full teaser trailer ready for you right after the jump.
