After a moderately successful box office gross once more, Screen Gems finally moved into motion the plans for Resident Evil 6 with a release date for what could very much be the final installment in the franchise. The final piece of an overarching vision, whether or not Alice will be closing up shop ultimately remains to be seen. But with a theatrical bow already in place, now the obvious has been set in stone as the key creative duo will be back for what could be their last Umbrella Corporation adventure.
Somehow, Alice keeps doing it. A cult-favorite, Resident Evilmanages to still succeed on the big screen and most recently the fifth film continued the trend by debuting at the top of the box office. Quickly assembling nearly every year, Screen Gems has been proud of the series alongside its other supernatural favorite Underworld.
Now, it seems the zombie apocalypse is just months away from returning in front of the camera once more as Alice is locked and loaded to go for what could be her last round.
As The Expendables 2 kicks off this Friday, an entire new slate of action movies look to show up in theaters as we move out of summer.
